The 2003 Grand Banks 43 Eastbay HX blends timeless Downeast styling, quality construction, and capable performance in a versatile express cruiser. With a spacious, thoughtfully arranged interior, comfortable accommodations, and twin Caterpillar 3126 diesel engines rated at 450 horsepower each, the Eastbay 43 HX is well suited to coastal cruising, entertaining, and extended weekends aboard.
This example has benefited from substantial improvements completed primarily in 2022 at Hinckley in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The work included a comprehensive electronics upgrade featuring Garmin navigation, open-array radar, AIS, and SiriusXM weather; refreshed interior and exterior woodwork; new upholstery throughout; significant galley improvements; and updates to the vessel’s lighting, air-conditioning components, entertainment system, and cockpit seating.
Additional equipment includes a Side-Power electric bow thruster, Onan 9 kW generator, Xantrex inverter/charger, and Freedom Lift with carbon-fiber arms. The vessel is also offered with an AB ALX inflatable tender powered by a 20-hp Yamaha outboard, reported to have fewer than 25 hours of use.

Accommodations & Interior
The Eastbay’s interior offers a practical layout for comfortable cruising, with a forward master stateroom, additional mid-cabin berths, and an L-shaped dinette.

- Dinette: L-shaped dinette in the mid-cabin.
- Cabin sole: Teak and holly.
- Headliner: White vinyl with teak batten trim, noted in excellent condition in the 2020 survey.
Galley & Appliances
The galley is located below to port at the companionway, with additional refrigeration in the pilothouse. The galley was updated during the 2022 refit with a new refrigerator, countertop, range, reworked storage, and an added freezer box.
Equipment documented in the survey includes:

- Princess 120-volt range, subsequently replaced according to the owner.
